Process:

1)  You may work individually or in teams of two.

2)  Go to this website and complete the tutorial starting with setting up the board: http://www.chesscorner.com/tutorial/learn.htm.

3)  Study how each chess piece moves on the chessboard.

•   Pawn

•   King

•   Queen

•   Bishop

•   Knight

•   Rook

 3)  Now try playing against the computer or in teams of two against two. (Go to: http://www.kidchess.com/ and click on "Easy Chess". A java screen will pop up where you can play against the computer. Advanced players can click on "JChess" for more of a challenge.)

4)  Be prepared to explain to the class how the game of chess is played.
